"Single leaf, 151 x 102 mm, with single column of 16 lines of an angular gothic bookhand, with pronounced wedges to tops of ascenders, line-fillers in red, blue and gold geometric designs, one-line initials in blue with ornate red penwork or liquid gold with ornate red penwork, one 2-line initial 'D' (opening ""Domine probasti me "") in gold, both filled with and enclosed in red and blue penwork foliage with thin leaves with serrated edges and round seedpods, decorative feather-like device in lower margin of each side with mirrored red and blue penstrokes or long and thin leaves arranged around a central gold or blue filament, a blue penwork bird with three sprigs of foliage in its beak at head of text column on recto, 17th- or 18th-century pagination '391' and '392', some darkening at edges, a few flakes from paint and gold in places, else good condition"
