Drawing (43 x 31.5 cm), red chalk with grey and brown wash, laid paper with unidentified watermark (sanding lion), unsigned, large horizontal folding crease at center, sm. diagonal crease at lower left corner, old repaired tear at lower right corner mostly visible on verso, 17th c., under passe-partout

Made after Veronese's (1528-1588) painting which was commissioned in 1566 by the church of San Giorgio, attached to the Barnabite hospital of Verona. It can be seen in the Musée de Beaux-Arts in Rouen
