BERGHUIS, telkens met een blad uitleg, alle gedrukt door G. Severeyns. Gebonden in originele linnen (groen en bordeaux) uitgeversbanden met rijke opdruk in goud. Enkele lichte bruine vlekjes zoals meestal en banden iets gewreven. Mooi exemplaar

Rather uncommon complete series of this treatise on Dutch orchards, published by the Boskoop Society for improvement of fruit production. Ill. with 2 frontisp. (portrait of dedicatee King Willem III in vol. I and allegorical pl. in vol. II) and 124 nice hand-col. lithogr. plates by the renowned Belgian lithographer Georges Severeyns after the Groningen painter and draughtsman Sybolt Berghuis (1820-1896). Vol. I deals with apples, vol. II with pears (36 pl.), cherries (8), plums (12), apricots (4) and peaches (4); each pl. pictures several varieties of fruit. List of subscribers at the begin. of vol. I
