Leaves [ not numb. 29, and one blank], numb. 306, [4 nn., loose from the sewing]
A very interesting and remarkable archival collection of documents containing official dispatches (in copy) sent by three Spanish Kings, from the Royal Court in Spain to the Governors and Rulers (both civil and military) of the Kingdom of Sicily. Among them are quoted the most prominent and noble families of Spanish Golden Age, including Italian prelates and noblemen (like Marc'Antonio Colonna in 1583). Most of the dispatches were registered by the Chancellery of Messina. The volume contains hundreds of documents, accounts, statements and convictions, and various matters related to taxes, the galleys of the Mediterranean and in general to the organization of the Spanish court in southern Italy
