"In-folio, [28] - 887 - [23] pp, title printed in red and black in a woodcut ornamental border, illustrated with ca. 130 partly rep. woodcuts in the text by Tobias Stimmer. Large woodcut printer's device on last page. At the end 8 manuscript pages in brown ink, text in Latin ""Designatio sanctarum reliquarum quae in Cathedrali Ecclesia Bambergensi / in collegiata Ecclesia S. Stephani ..."" Part of the upper margin of title-page cut, paper age-toned, small wormholes in the last quire, but a very good copy. Contemporary pigskin binding on wooden boards, with rich blind-tooling (rubbed, especially the lower board), dated 1594, spine with 5 raised edges, blue edges, with bronze clasps. (pale red stain in lower corner) At the centre of the upper board: allegorical representations of the Arts: Grammatica, Dialectica, Rhetorica, Arithmetica"
