In-folio (28 x 19,5 cm), [4] + LXX +[4] ff, with large title woodcut by J. Breu d.A. after H. Burgkmair (hand coloured), 1 text woodcut by Weiditz (a.k.a. the Master of Petrarch) and several woodcut initials and tailpieces. Small wormholes in the lower margin of quire f, tears without loss repaired in a few lvs, but still a good copy. Later mottled calf binding, blue sprinkled edges

Herodian's life is almost unknown to us. First German edition. Translated from the Greek into Latin by Angelus Politianus, and from Latin into German by Hieronymus Boner. Ref. VD16 H 2503 ; Adams, H-391
