Edition of the collected plays of Plautus, with an elaborate commentary by Denis Lambin (1520-1572), who died from the effects of the shock given to him by the Massacre of St. Bartholomew. Before his death Lambin had undertaken a commentary on Plautus, and had begun the notes on the thirteenth play, the ""Mercator"". His notes, though imperfect and unmethodical, were published (1576) after his death (Ref. newadvent.org) By claiming Colonia Allobrogum as the publication location, printers were able to circumvent French laws which banned books from Geneva
