The inner rectangle divided into two vertical stripes, each occupied by three animals, enclosed within the curves of a vine branch. The outer frame has the inscription ""ligat per man. xxxxx qui petit a malis erui et semper protegi per manus domini"". This was the inscription used by Jacobus Clercx de Ghele. The binder's name was erased and obliterated on the stamp before application. Goldschmidt concluded that Jacob Clercx' tools were taken over by a successor, who removed his name.
