First Latin edition, it was published in Greek in 1550. Contents: Oratio adhortatoria ad Graecos (Hortatory Discourse to the Greeks), Paedagogus, Stromatum libri octo ... (Miscellanies) Clement of Alexandria (died circa 215 AD) was a Greek theologian, he was a convert. He is venerated as a saint in Coptic Christianity. He knew about Siddhartha Buddha, whose existence had been told to him by the Alexandrian merchants who traded with India. Ref. EDIT 16 CNCE 12689 ; Adams C-2105
