1st and only edition of this rare and interesting medical study of animals by the town physician of Dendermonde (fl. 1638). Ill. with 80 charming woodcuts in text representing animals (birds, mammals, fishes, insects, snakes...), with p. 173 signed ""I.C.I."" : Christofel Jegher (Antwerp 1596-1653) was ""houte printsnyder"" and worked for the Plantin Press between 1625 and 1643. Woodcut mark on title, large printer's mark at the end.
