The striking historical map shows the Indian Ocean from Egypt and the red sea with Arabia, with India, Thailand to Jave. The map has been copied from the original projection of Abraham Ortelius from 1595. The map includes an inset of the North Pole and of the voyage of the Carthagener Hannon. Collection of the writings of Arrianus 'cum notis variorum' translated and annotated by the Dutch scholar Nicolas Blankaert (1625-1703). The first part includes his treatise of Tactic and the Instruction on the order of battle against Alano, the tour of the Euxine Sea, that of the Red Sea, a treatise on hunting, Enchiridion and Apopthegmes of Epictète, the paraphrases Greco-Latin of Mericus Causabonus and Polizianos translated into Latin.
