[SUTTON (Christopher)]

This extremely rare volume of a once very popular work, which has passed through many editions, and was even published in America, 1853, was first printed in 1608, but only the British Museum and one of the Cambridge College have copies of the First Edition. The above described is the Second Edition, which is so rare that there is no copy in the British Museum. Christopher Sutton was born about 1565. On account of his talents as a preacher he was appointed by King James I. the Canon of Westminster Abbey. He preached at the funeral of Camden. Became Canon of Lincoln, 1618. Died 1629.
