M. Sellink, Philips Galle (1537-1612) I, p. 104 & II, figs. 72-74. - ""Another major Stradanus series that probably dates from the period around 1580 is the Passio (...), or, more simply the Life and Passion of Christ. (...) The subject matter is rendered in a narrative manner, each print concentrating on one episode from the Passion. In contrast to Galle's prints after, for example, Heemskerk no additional representations are added in the background. The Latin verses in the margin, of which the author is unknown, are of a general explanatory nature."" (Sellink). Stradanus of Jan van der Straet (Brugge 1523-Florence 1605) publiceerde deze reeks rond 1587 (Alessandra Vanucci item 694).
