He worked on a number of notable medical publications beyond these - Fellow botanist Jean Louis Marie Poiret (1755-1834) collaborated with him on this project, perhaps accounting for its broad scope, well beyond mere medical botany. The detailed illustrations were executed by Ernestine Panckoucke and Pierre Jean François Turpin, both gifted botanical illustrators. Indeed, Turpin is considered one of the greatest botanical and floral illustrators) A beautiful work, with plates produced using the stipple engraving process developed by the great botanical artist Pierre-Jospeh Redoute. The title reflects the medicinal properties of: grapes, melon, palms, bananas, to name just a few.
