4to (197 x 145 mm.), [viii], 170, [2] pages, illustrated with an allegorical vignette in the introduction, 6 double page engraved maps (world map, Europa, Gallia, Germania, Germania inferior, Italia) and also 77 half-age copper engraved maps on the text pages. The maps are numbered 1-84, error in numerotation, but complete. With a few pale stains, but still a very good copy. Old leather binding, rubbed, spine and one corner repaired, with gilt supra libros of Michael Wodhull, lower hinge broken, upper hinge repaired

This first Latin edition of Peter Heyns's Spieghel der Werelt"" was also composed in verse. The author is Hugo Favoli (1523-1585) from Middelburg... The text on Turkey is striking because of its length (24pp.), while most other texts do not exceed three pages"" (van der Krogt).
