The date on the half title page is 1606. Illustrated a a few text woodcuts. Slightly aged-toned. Bound with the prize, but the surname has been cut out. Vellum prize binding with arms of city of AMSTERDAM (first joint torn), soiled

In 1606, Gottfried Jungermann published a Greek translation he had come across of the ""De bello gallico"". It was later reprinted in this edition and in the famous 1706 and 1727 Cambridge editions of Caesar's works. It was a way for students to learn Greek from the easy Latin text they already knew.
