LULLIUS, Raimundus

Rhetoricorum Raimundi Lulli nova evulgatio, que perspicua faciliaque traduntur de omnibus, tum Scientiae, Tum Eloquentiae Generalia Principia
Paris
Pierre Billaine
1638
€600 - €800

4to, [8]-1-135, 166-240 [=210]- [2] pp, some woodcut and engraved diagrams in the text. Age-toned, damp-staining, worming in final quires touching a few letters, first ff. frayed at edges. In all an acceptable copy. Loose in contemp. limp vellum binding, modern marbled box

The present copy differs from the digitized Lyon copy as follows: pp. 129-166, 231-232, 237-240 differ in text and typesetting. Apparently the present copy is a survivor of an earlier edition, with the text of Lull only, without the additions by French 17th c. Neo-Latin poets such as Henricus Memmius and Ludovicus Borbonius
