353 x 255 mm. Pen and brown ink, over black chalk, framing lines in brown ink on laid paper (no visible watermark). Water damage around the edges, some brown spots, traces of previous blue album sheet on verso, thinning of paper with some sl. loss at left edge

Seated in the center, holding a small organ, Musica is surrounded by putti and angels, holding various other musical instruments. The drawing probably functioned as a composition sketch for a larger work. First sketched in black chalk, the contours were later (partly) finished with brown ink. The drawing may have been part of larger series depicting the Seven Liberal Arts
