"The very rare first edition, and all that have been published. Some attribute this work to Haller, but the preface is dated 1743, and signed C.B. It seems that some copies have a second title- page bound between the preface and the text, reading ""Vol. I"" and with the date 1744. Almost daily Boerhaave gave consultations to all countries of Europe, and his letters were often preserved as treasures. The present work is a collection of 52 questions to Boerhaave with his answers. The names of the correspondents are, unfortunately, not mentioned. Ref. Lindeboom Boerhaaviana 575"
