Gyor is a place in Hungary halfway between Budapest and Vienna. The city is situated at the confluence of three rivers: the Danube, Raba and Rabca. The Magyars occupied the town around 900 and fortified the abandoned Roman fortress. In the 16th century, the town was burnt down because the commanders thought it would be futile to try to defend the town from the Turkish army. This map was designed by Johan Georg Fischer and in the lowest left corner, we'll see some examples of canon shooting over the defenses
