Obelisk at the Piazza S. Giovanni in Laterano

All four sides of the obelisk with their hieroglyphs, and its Latin inscription on the bases, commemorating the long voyage of the obelisk, the biggest of all existing (32 meters). With extensive explanatory Italian text engraved in 3 columns. It took D. Fontana 2 years to excavate, transport, reassemble and erect the obelisk, following the orders of Pope Sixtus V
