[ST. ANDREW]

Single leaf with a full-page miniature, most probably from a Book of Hours, illuminated manuscript on vellum
[Flanders (most probably Ghent or Bruges)
c. 1470]
€800 - €1.200

Single leaf with an arch-topped miniature enclosing a full-length portrait of the saint as a bearded man, standing and holding the distinctive cross on which he was martyred, all on a grassy landscape with a pale pink background, with textile-like patterns picked out in darker pinks, full decorated border with cuttings of sprays of realistic foliage and flowers and a song-bird, a cockerel and a standing boy-attendant in red robes, on dull gold grounds in the trompe d'oeil Ghent-Bruges style, a few small spots, stains, scuffs and signs of having been folded, overall in fair condition, 85 by 60mm.; framed in card mount (and reverse not examined)

From the same parent manuscript as the previous three lots
