Good copy of this famous pictorial encyclopedia for school children, with questions and answers, and extensive indexes - one of the major works of the Bohemian scholar Comenius (1592-1670), residing in Amsterdam. Comenius, or Komensky was an eminent Slavic educator and Moravian bishop, who, because of persecution, was forced to flee Poland. In 1641, the Parliament of England invited him to assist in reforming the system of public instruction.
